Identity Quest™ ("Identity Quest," "we," "us," or "our") is a property of Mashman Consulting Group LLC. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect when you play Identity Quest, how we use it, and the choices available to you.
Information We Collect
We collect information in a few ways:
- Account information. If you create an account or sign in with Google, we receive the email address and basic profile information your sign-in method provides. If you play as a guest, we do not collect any account information.
- Gameplay data. Your in-game progress, choices, and save data, so your session can be restored and, for signed-in accounts, synced across devices.
- Usage analytics. We collect information about how Identity Quest is used, such as which features are played and general engagement patterns, to understand how the game is used and to improve it.
- Technical information. Standard technical data such as browser type, device type, and approximate location, collected automatically by our hosting infrastructure.
How We Use Your Information
- To operate Identity Quest, including saving and restoring your progress.
- To sync your save data across devices when you are signed in.
- To understand how Identity Quest is played and to improve its design, balance, and features.
- To maintain the security and integrity of the game and our systems.
- To communicate with you about your account, if you have one, such as password reset requests.
We Do Not Sell Your Data
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties. We track usage analytics to understand and improve Identity Quest, but that information is not sold.
How Your Information Is Stored and Secured
Identity Quest is hosted on secured infrastructure. Account authentication and cloud save data are handled through Google Firebase, a widely used platform for application authentication and data storage. Guest-mode progress is stored locally in your browser and is never transmitted to our servers.
Cookies and Local Storage
Identity Quest uses your browser's local storage to save guest progress and remember basic preferences (such as sound settings). We do not use advertising cookies or third-party tracking cookies.
Cross-Site Visitor Code
Across Mashman Consulting Group's own websites (identitypositioning.com, mashmancg.com, identityquest.press, mashmanpublishing.com, and personalbrandingagencies.com), a small script served from identitypositioning.com stores one random visitor code in your browser and adds it to links between those sites, so we can see which of our sites introduced you to another and whether you later requested a consultation, completed an audit, created an Identity Quest™ account, or applied for or reviewed a directory listing. The code is not linked to your name, email, or IP address and is never shared with third parties. Clearing your browser's site data removes it. The same code is described in the identitypositioning.com privacy policy.
Children's Privacy
Identity Quest is not directed at anyone under 16, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 16. If you believe someone under 16 has provided us with personal information, please contact us at the address below so we can remove it.
Your Choices
- You can play Identity Quest as a guest at any time without creating an account or providing any personal information.
- If you have an account, you can request access to, correction of, or deletion of your data by contacting us below.
- You can delete your local guest save at any time by clearing your browser's local storage for this site.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date.
